Global variables
Store a credential once and reference it from any flow.
A global variable is an encrypted, per-user key/value pair — store a value once (an API key, a connection string) and reference it by name from any component, instead of pasting the raw value into every node that needs it.
Creating one
From account settings, add a variable with a name and value. Model-provider credential fields (an OpenAI API key, for example) can be saved directly as a global variable from the field itself — the component validates the key and reports whether it's currently valid.
Using one
Any credential-shaped field (marked as a secret input on a component) can be set to reference a variable by name instead of holding a literal value. Change the variable's value once and every component referencing it picks up the new value immediately — no need to update each flow individually.
Scope
Variables are scoped to the user that created them, not to a single flow or project — the same variable is available across everything you build.
